How to compare Fujifilm cameras
The dimensions that actually matter when comparing Fujifilm APS-C bodies, in the order most buyers should think about them.
- Sensor generation. Every current 2022+ body uses the X-Trans V sensor and X-Processor 5, which means AI subject detection (people, animals, cars, planes, insects). If you shoot moving subjects at all, this is the single biggest upgrade over an older X-Trans IV body.
- Megapixels. X-Trans V comes in two resolutions: the 26 MP variant (X-T30 III, X-M5, X-S20) and the 40 MP variant (X-T5, X-H2, X-H2S, X100VI, X-T50). 40 MP gives you real cropping headroom; 26 MP gives you smaller files and faster burst.
- Body style. Dial-driven SLR-style (X-T series) vs rangefinder-style (X-E, X-Pro, X100) vs deep-grip hybrid (X-H, X-S). This is mostly handling — but it is also where IBIS, weather sealing, and dual card slots tend to differ.
- Video. If video matters, the X-H2 and X-H2S outclass every other X-mount body on codecs and frame rates. For stills-first shooters, 4K or 6K open-gate on most current bodies is more than enough.
- Weight and feel. The X-T50 (438g) and X100VI (521g) are the everyday-carry picks. The X-H2S (660g) and X-H2 (660g) are flagship bodies that earn their weight with features, not bulk.
